Punjab Govt promotes 3 IPS officer as DIG

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has promoted three IPS officers int he rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police with immediate effect. Gursharan Singh Sandhu and Kanwar Bahadur Singh (2002 Batch) have been promoted. Kaustubh Sharma (2001 Batch) who has opted to continue on central deputation, has been given profroma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police as per the laid down provisions.

 

PUNJAB TO TRAIN PANCHAYATS FOR AUDIT

Chandigarh: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Department has decided to give training of audit to the panchayats in the state. The audit of Gram Panchayats will start immediately after the training. The training would be given in all districts of the state in batches.

 

UT ADMiN RElEASES CHIlD PROTECTION COMPENDIUM

Chandigarh:  The Union Territory Child Protection Society (UTCPS) under the aegis of Department Of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration organized a Programme for release of Child Protection Compendium and Documentary Film on procedures of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 by Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, V.P Singh Badnore at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The Program commenced with the screening of short film “Bhor” on the theme of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao produced by the initiative of Department Of Social Welfare Women and Child Development. This was followed by an orientation on the cause of organ donation by Sudhir Dhawan, Director, Mohan Foundations. The session was followed by showcasing of documentary film on procedures under Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

 

PGI HOlDS WORKSHOP FOR ANM AND lHV AT AMBAlA

Chandigarh: A weekly training workshop of Medical Officers and Health Workers (ANMs and lHVs) on National Health Programs is being organised by School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh at Community Health Centre, Shahzadpur in Ambala. The workshop, which was formally inaugurated on August 29 by Dr Vinod Gupta, Civil Surgeon, Ambala, will continue till September 3. While describing the public health services being provided by PGI Chandigarh in the Shahzadpur region for last four years, Dr Gupta admired the contribution done by School of Public Health in strengthening the health system of the region.

 

RBBSRC BAGS ISBTI AWARD FOR INNOVATION IN BlOOD DONATION

Chandigarh: The Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Chandigarh (RBBSRC) has bagged the ISBTI Institutional Award for its innovative ideas in the field of voluntary blood donation and in scientific research of transfusion medicine. The RBBSRC was awarded during the 41st Annual Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology at Pune.

 

PU CAMPUS STUDENTS’ COUNCIl ElECTION ON SEPT 7

Chandigarh: Panjab University Campus Students’ Council Elections for the year 2016-17 will be held on September 7. As the per schedule announced by the university for the Campus Students’ Council Elections, the election process shall start on September 2 with the filling of nominations, on September 3 the lists of approved candidates would be released after scrutiny and objections.
