HARYANA DEClARES OPEN SCHOOl RESUlTS

Chandigarh: Haryana Board of School Education on Monday declared the results of Senior Secondary (Fresh) and Subject to Be Clear (STC)/Credit Transfer Policy (CTP) examination of Haryana Open School April -2016 conducted by it. The candidates can check their results on Board’s website www.bseh.org.in. Board’s Chairman, Dr. Jagbir Singh said that the pass percentage of Senior Secondary Open School (Fresh) April-2016 is 43.85 whereas that of Senior Secondary Open School STC or CTP April 2016 is 55.24. In all, 30,361 candidates had appeared in the examination of Senior Secondary (Fresh) of which 13,314 candidates passed and 16,425 candidates got STC. As many as 11,583 candidates had appeared in the examination of Senior Secondary Open School (STC or CTP), of which 6,398 candidates have passed and 4,926 candidates got STC.

MOHAlI GETS ACCOlADES FOR MECHANISED CITY ClEANING

Mohali: Municipal Corporation, Mohali has been selected for the best practices in the field of GIS-based mechanised city cleaning, by the Union Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India and it has also been shortlisted for the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Awards, 2015. To familiarize the officials of other Municipal Corporations about the concept of GIS-based mechanised city cleaning, Municipal Corporation, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar is conducting capacity- building programme on June 2.  41 High level officials from 22 Municipal Corporations of India are arriving to participate in this programme. Commissioner, Municipal Corporation while giving the details of this programme said that this programme will be inaugurated by Mayor and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation.

 

VIJ orders FOR EARlY COMPlETION OF ROAD WORKS

Chandigarh: Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij on Monday said that roads in Ambala Sadar area, including 56 roads of Municipal Corporation, are being reconstructed at a cost of Rs 23 crore. Vij, who also represents the Ambala Cantt. Assembly Constituency has directed the officers of Municipal Corporation and Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to complete the ongoing works at the earliest so that the people do not have to face any difficulty during monsoon. He said that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken for causing delay deliberately. He also issued orders to carry out beautification of main roads of the city.

 

lADY CADETS CElEBRATE COMPlETION OF FIRST YEAR

SAS Nagar: Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute on Monday celebrated the successful completion of first year training of lady Cadets, holding an interactive cum cultural program. Mai Bhago AFPI is one of the only premier Institutes of its kind anywhere in the country where young girls are trained for a career as officers in the Defence Services. The director addressed the parents and discussed issues related to their training and welfare. The lady Cadets gave mesmerising performances through a skit on social issues that plague our society amidst the gathering.

 

SANJEEV KAUSHAl TO RElEASE DDO ADVISOR

Chandigarh: Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Department, Haryana, Sanjeev Kaushal will release a book entitled as “DDO ADVISOR’ written by Dr. U.S.Malik, Principal, Accounts Training Institute, Finance Department, on May 31. The book is compilation of terms and definitions along with the rules of the 14 Books like CSR, PFR, Budget Manual, Pension Rules, TA Rules, GPF Rules, Punishment and Appeal Rules, STR, Accounts Code. It is beneficial for 3.5 lakh employees and 7,000 DDOs in Haryana.

 

SINGH GETS ADDITIONAl CHARGE OF DG, HORTICUlTURE

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has ordered that Bhupinder Singh, Director and Special Secretary, Agriculture Department will also hold the charge of Director General, Horticulture in place of Arjun Singh Saini.

 

KVK OF GADVASU HOlDS KISAN MElA

ludhiana: Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, ludhiana’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barnala organised a Kisan Mela on “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna”.  Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) inaugurated the Kisan Mela and said that “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna” has been implemented all over the country as well as in Punjab. This Yojna will be beneficial to the farmers. He added that water level is depleting day by day and there is dire need to use new technologies of irrigation for crops, vegetable and other farming activities. Dr. H.K. Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU explained various knowledge empowerments strategies being adopted by farmers for getting healthy and remunerative livestock produce.

 

SEMINAR ON TRENDS, ISSUES IN CONTEMPORARY lITERATURE

Chandigarh: A National Seminar on "Trends and Issues in Contemporary literature" was organised by the Post Graduate Department of English of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh. Prof. Surjit Hans from GNDU, Patiala was the Chief Guest of the day. Prof. Hans is credited with the translation of entire works of Shakespeare into Punjabi, a task accomplished over more than two decades. The Seminar delved into the main areas of contemporary literature with a view to understand the issues which woke interest in the field of language and literature presently. Around 25 research papers were presented in the technical sessions by the Faculty members, research scholars and students. The seminar was sponsored by Sikh Educational Society.

 

PUBlIC lECTURE ON WORlD NO TOBACCO DAY

Chandigarh: World Health Organisation (WHO) celebrates 31st May every year as “World No Tobacco Day”.  Department of Hospital Administration, PGIMER, Chandigarh is organizing public lectures to mark the occasion.  The function is scheduled from 10.00 am to 11.00 am at lecture Theatre 1, Nehru Hospital, PGI. Hemant Goswami, a prominent anti-tobacco activist, will speak on the strategies to curb the use of tobacco in the community.  The health aspects of tobacco use will be dwelled upon by Prof.D.Behera, Head, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, PGI while Prof. A. K. Gupta, Medical Superintendent, PGI will share his experience on making the Institute tobacco free. The session will be chaired by Prof.Y.K.Chawla, Director, PGI.

 

STANDING panel ON DEFENCE VISITS MIlITARY STATION

Chandigarh: In an ongoing tour of Standing Committee on Defence, 12 Members of Parliament both from lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha came on a two-day visit to Chandimandir, Military Station. This committee is chaired by Maj Gen (Retd) B C Khanduri, MP of lok Sabha. lt Gen KJ Singh, GOC-in-C, Western Command on Monday briefed the visiting committee on operations and administrative aspects of Western Command. A tour of the Chandimandir Military Station including the recently inaugurated Western Command Museum was made by the committee members. The committee witnessed an impressive light and Sound Show depicting the history of Western Command through the annals of the times gone by. later, the MPs had an informal meeting with officers of Headquarters Western Command. The Committee is also scheduled later to visit the Military Stations of Dehradun and Shimla.

 

Jeewan Pramaan portal for pensioners in Himachal

Shimla:  A Spokesman of Himachal Finance Department on Monday said that pensioners in the state could submit their life Certificate and other Certificates from June  1. He said that pensioners may download life certificate available on http:himkosh.hp.nic.in and submit the filled form in any Treasury of the district after getting it signed from a gazetted government servant.  He said that pensioners could also generate life Certificate at NIC Centre, Treasuries or in Common Service Centre where biometric devices were available by using Jeevan Pramaan portal at (jeevanpramaan.gov.in) life Certificate generated through it may be delivered to any Treasury of the district.  The spokesman further informed that a digital life certificate online through Jeevan Praman Portal (jeevanpramaan.gov.in) as a result of Aadhaar based authentication would be accepted as valid certificate. He said that the pensioners who have already seeded their Aadhaar number biometrically with Treasury need not submit their life Certificate in Treasury separately.
