 Two deer die due to dog bite in Athagarh

Athagarh: A male spotted deer coming out of the Subasi Reserve Forest in quest of water was attacked by a group of dogs and died near Chandrabali Shyampur here on Friday. Range Officer Gouragopal Si, Forester Nirmalanjan Das and subordinate staff recovered the animal’s carcass and produced it before the BDO. After registering an UD case, the body was buried in the Bauda Banakhandi Forest. Similarly, a barking deer was found dead after it was bitten by dogs near the Kalichaballav Reserve Forest under Tigiria forest area on Thursday.

 Annual credit plan meet held in Baleswar

Baleswar: A special meeting for launching the annual credit plan for the district for fiscal 2016 -17 was held on Thursday. The speakers stressed on the simplification of advancement of the loan process and removal of the bottlenecks for early disbursement of loan, easy education loan, encouraging entrepreneurs with hassle free loan facilities, etc., during discussions. District Collector Pramod Das, lead Bank manager Harekrushna Behera, ZP president Umilata Das and several officials of various banks were present.
