AMBASSADOR OF PERU CAllS ON GOVERNOR
Chandigarh: The Ambassador of Peru to India Jose JG Betan Court on Wednesday called on Haryana and Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Kaptan Singh Solanki at Haryana Raj Bhavan.
This was a courtesy call which continued for half-an-hour in a very cordial and amicable atmosphere. Discussing various issues at length with the Ambassador, Solanki said Haryana and Punjab both states are famous in the field of agriculture because of very fertile land, availability of water and hard working farmers.
He suggested for strengthening partnership in agri-related ventures especially food processing which has a major scope of collaboration. Jose JG Betan Court showed keen interest in culture and customs of this region. Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Secretary to Governor, Haryana was also present on the occasion.
SAINI HAIlS RESERVATION FOR JATS IN HARYANA
Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Renewable Energy, Nayab Singh Saini, has hailed the State Government’s decision to give reservation to Jats and members of other castes and described it as a historic decision. The Minister said that the Congress had been misguiding the people on this issue for the last 10 years. It had issued such a notification on Jat reservation which did not have any legal or constitutional validity. He said that this historic decision taken by the State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Manohar lal, would set an example of brotherhood and unity.
Kalyan FAVOURS ASSISTANCE FOR lAND GIVING PANCHAYATS
Chandigarh: Harvinder Kalyan, MlA of Gharaunda has stressed the need to frame a policy for giving financial assistance to those gram panchyats whose land is acquired for various developmental projects of the State Government so that development works in such villages are not hampered. Kalyan, who is also chairman HAFED, said that apart from the financial assistance, such villages should also be ensured of the benefit of the projects in the form of employment.
He said that in view of the difficulties being faced in the process of acquisition of land, the land of various gram panchayats needed to be taken for maximum projects of the State Government.
The Government should frame a policy so as to ensure that the villages whose land is acquired for development projects are fairly compensated in the form of financial assistance as well as employment, said he.
