Diamond jubilee cycle expedition reaches Alwar

Chandigarh:  The Diamond Jubilee Cycle Expedition of 63 CAVAlRY flagged off by lt Gen KJ Singh, GOC-in-C Western Command from Bhuj on February 13 has completed the first phase on reaching Alwar. The team has covered a distance of 1200 km up to Alwar, the birth place of 63 Cavalry. The expedition has traversed through the diverse terrain from Rann of Kutch, Deserts of Thar and Hills of Aravalis. The team established a connect with the veterans of the Regiment and invited them for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Amritsar. The team also spread the spirit of adventure amongst the local youth and projected the image of Indian Army.

 Avid biker embarks on epic journey

Chandigarh: Arunabh Majumdar, a Bangalore based travel blogger and an avid biker put man and machine to the test when he embarked on an epic journey from Bangalore to Bangkok on a TVS SraR City+ motorcycle. Arunabh started his 7000 kilometer journey from Bangalore on Christmas day, December 25, 2015 and 25 days later after a ride that saw him traverse through three countries across some of the most beautiful terrain, world heritage sites, stunning landscapes and renowned tourist destinations in India, Myanmar and Thailand. The ride through Thailand was short and swift, a mere 600 kilometers from the Burma – Thailand Border as the TVS StaR City+ blazed its way into Bangkok in a mere 48 hours. According to Arunabh “the TVS Star City+, one of India’s most popular commuter motorcycles, officially became the first 110cc bike to do a tri-nation tour.

Khalsa College holds Inter-College Fest

Chandigarh: Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies held an inter-college fest, Hunar 2016. A total of 15 colleges from the region participated in the fest. Among several competitions held included Mehandi competition, Collage Making, Poster Making, Slogan writing,Mimicry, Turban Tying, Clay Modelling, Kite Flying and several technical activities, in which students participated with enthusiasm. College Principal Dr. Harish Kumari highlighted on the need to be tech savvy while speaking on the occasion. Among others present were Satyajit Singh Majithia, Fest Organising Secretary and Chief Patron, and Rajinder Singh Chhina, Patron.
