The State Government on Monday said it would implement the Biju Atma Nijukti Yojana, which had been announced in 2013, in order to provide supports to entrepreneurs soon.
Chief Minister Naveen Patanik directed the MSME Department while reviewing its performance at the State Secretariat here to make efforts to reach the target of establishing 1.5 lakh small industries and giving jobs to 4 lakh unemployed boys and girls by implementing the Biju Atma Nijukti Yojana. The target is set to be achieved by 2018-19.
Over 50,000 small industries were established and about 1.75 youths provided jobs in 2015-16, informed a CMO release.
It was decided that the Single Window Clearance Committee would meet once every month, and the Venture Fund, which has Rs 10 crore, would be implemented from this year.
Besides, the Chief Minister directed the Khadi and Village Industries Board to renovate at least 10 Samitis during the current year.
It was revealed that the work for the food parks at Rayagada and Derash are going on war-footing and the food park at Raygada would be commissioned by December-end this year. Similarly, efforts are on to establish a wood-based industry at Paradip. While the Idco would provide land for the purpose, the project would be imported by the Paradip Port Trust.
This apart, the Chief Minister directed to expedite the implementation of the Odisha Youth Innovation Fund.
MSME Minister Jogendra Behera was present at the meeting.
