BJP national president Amit Shah has set a "1,000-day target" for the party rank and file in Telangana State to ensure the party's victory on the basis of the achievements and programs of the Narendra Modi Government.
Addressing the meeting of the extended party executive attended by the party leaders from all over Telangana in Hyderabad last evening Amit Shah exuded confidence that not only will the BJP win the 2019 elections but also Telangana will become a gateway to South India for the BJP.
"If the party workers work hard, it will not be impossible to come to power in the State", he said. Amit Shah urged the party leaders to take a vow to work for the party's victory in 2019 polls and secure support for Prime Minister Modi.
"People all over India have accepted Modi and the BJP. I see no reason why such results can not be repeated in Telangana", he said underlining the need for the party workers to work in the remaining three years and take the achievements and programs of the Modi Government to the people.
Interestingly, he avoided the thorny issues of future of alliance with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, the special status to Andhra Pradesh and the possibility of a BJP tie up with the ruling TRS in Telangana.
He did not rule out the possibility of joining hands with the TRS saying the BJP had not received any such proposal from the latter. "let us think of it when it comes", he said. At the same time he also did not reveal whether the party would continue its present alliance with the TDP in Telangana.
