A 26-year-old man’s body was found on the roadside near the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) in Dwarka sector 19 on Tuesday morning.

It was identified to be of Akhilesh Sardar, a labourer living in nearby Kochin Pur Village. The body had head injuries. Police have registered a case of murder in Dwarka sector 23 Police Station.

Police officials said Sardar had gone from home a day before and never returned. His body was spotted by passersby around 10.15 am and police was informed.

"Prima Facie, it does not appear to be a case of an accident. He had only head injuries. So we have registered a case of murder and further investigation is on," said a senior police official.

Officials said further action will be taken after his post mortem results are out. His family members and neighbours are being questioned.
