Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who is also the general secretary of the AIADMK launched her campaign for the upcoming Assembly election on Sunday from RK Nagar, a Chennai suburb which elected her in a bypoll last year.
Addressing a mammoth rally in the constituency, Jayalalitha said she would never forget R K Nagar or the people in the suburb. "The R K Nagar constituency and the people are eternally engraved in my heart. I can never forget R K Nagar or the people here," said Jayalalithaa.
"The Government headed by me which took over in 2011 has been formulating and implementing each and every scheme only for the welfare of the people," said Jayalalithaa.
"Ever since my Government assumed office in 2011, we have been striving hard to serve the people. Various measures have been initiated during the past five years to ensure effective functioning of principal manufacturing and service sectors. We have introduced schemes to improve the living standards of farmers, fishermen, weavers, youngsters, women, senior citizens, Government officials and differently abled," said the CM.
