Following Indian Army’s surgical strike across the line of Control to target terror launch pads, security has been beefed up in bordering Gujarat and along its 1,600 km-long- coastline as well as land border along neighbouring Pakistan.
The Gujarat Government has advised fishermen not to venture near the International Maritime Boundary line (IMBl) and asked them to stay at least 15 nautical miles from the IMBl on Thursday. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also convened a meeting of Home Department officials as well as other important functionaries to review the security situation in the State.
“Gujarat administration is in co-ordination with all the three wings of military – Army, Navy and Air Force. State Government officials are in contact with Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Coast Guards (ICG) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in wake of tension along the border. The State administration has been instructed to fulfil all sorts of requirements of these security forces,” said Rupani after the meeting.
The Gujarat CM further said that three districts of Gujarat–Kutch, Patan and Banaskantha shares land border with Pakistan and villages along the borders have been put under vigilance.
