Cong, CPM raise concern about India's strategic interests

Wednesday, 31 August 2016 | PNS | New Delhi

The Congress and the CPI (M) on Tuesday expressed serious concern over India’s national, geo global and strategic interests following the signing of the lEMOA (‘logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement) between India and United States. The Congress in a statement said signing of lEMOA is a fundamental departure from India’s time tested policy of ‘strategic military neutrality’.

“It raises a genuine and grave apprehension regarding India being unwarrantedly drawn into an operational military design in Asia Pacific Region and Middle East. This Agreement will also cause serious misgivings, unless explained and justified, among India’s traditional partners and time tested allies, regionally and globally,” said AICC chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.
