Notwithstanding their electoral defeats, Bengal Chief Minister is reinstating four of her Ministers to important positions with Cabinet ranks, sources at State Secretariat Nabanna said.
Former Minister Manish Gupta, who lost to CPI(M)'s Sujan Chakrabarty from Jadavpur seat, is getting appointed as the Adviser to the Chief Minister with a Cabinet rank, while another of his Cabinet colleagues and former Backward Class Welfare Minister Upen Biswas is being reinstated with Cabinet status as Chairman, SC/ST Commission.
Former PWD Minister Shankar Chakrabarty, who also lost the polls will be appointed as the chairman of a number of PSUs. Similarly former law Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya will be made the chairperson of State Medical Services Corporation.
