Banga Bibhushan Award for Ramakrishna Mission

The Government of West Bengal has selected the Ramakrishna Mission for the 2015 Banga Bibhushan Award in recognition of its yeomen service in the education and social sectors.

 This was among the highlights of the 107th annual general meeting of the Ramakrishna Mission at its headquarters in Belur Math near Kolkata earlier this week.

Recently, the 62nd National film award jury also gave the  Best Animation Film award to  'Sound of Joy', an animation film produced by the mission based on the childhood of Swami Vivekanand. The film was part of the project celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of the founder of the Mission.  The mission  broke new ground  in establishing a centre in the holy city of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, along with one at Imphal (Manipur).

Plans were also firmed up at the meeting for the upcoming 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Saradananda, Swami Trigunatitananda and Sister Nivedita at verious centres of Ramakrishna Mission worldwide.
