Soon, CP to get smart dustbins

Monday, 29 February 2016 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

In a bid to make the Connaught Place area clean, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has initiated a scheme for installation of 253 stainless steel dustbin under the first phase at public plaza, Radial Roads and in front of public corridors in Connaught Place under the Swachchh Bharat Mission. The transparent design of the dustbins had been prepared in consultation with the Delhi Police keeping in view all safety and security aspects.

“It is hoped that these dustbins would be useful to upkeep and maintaining the New Delhi area neat and clean and also to help in providing healthy atmosphere and environment to the visiting people and inhabitants of the area. It is a big step towards smart city,” said NDMC official.

The bags would be provided for collecting and cleaning the littering from the bins by NDMC to its safai karamcharis. The NDMC has decided to install such dustbins in other commercial areas too in order to provide the civic facilities to people.
