Man dies in police custody

Athirty-five-year-old man, who was detained by Noida police in a dispute case, allegedly died in police custody on Friday morning.

However, Noida police have denied the allegation saying he jumped from moving PCR van and succumbed to his injuries in a Delhi hospital.

The victim’s family on Friday staged a protest at Mamura square.

Deceased’s wife Manju has alleged three people, including two police constables, were behind her husband death.

Senior Superintendent of police, GB Nagar Kiran said that they have suspended two constables Deepak Rathi and Gopal responsible for the negligence and assured victim family for proper probe. “Preliminary probe indicates that it is a freak incident as he died after falling from police PCR. The allegation is being investigating by the police.” said SSP Noida.

Police said the deceased has been identified as Vinod a resident of Mamura village who run a hotel in Noida.
