The much-talked about Departmental Promotional Committee (DPC) meeting of the Indian police service officers of AGMUT cadre will be held on April 1 to consider promotions of the officers to senior-most posts.
“The meeting, after being postponed three times due to Union Home Secretary’s responsibility lined up for Uttarakhand development, is set to take place on Friday,” told sources to The Pioneer on Tuesday.
“The promotions of the eligible IPS officers of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre to the senior posts, including that of DGP, ADGP, IGP, DIGP and selection grade will be held on April 1 under the chairmanship of Union Home Secretary in his chamber,” read the meeting notice by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In Delhi Police force, high rank officers, including Joint Commissioners, are expected to be promoted to posts that of Special Commissioners. IPS officers of batch-89 and of batch 98-99 are on the list of getting promotions, told sources. Among the Joint Commissioners whose names are doing the rounds for promotions, include Joint Commissioner (Eastern Range) Sanjay Beniwal, Joint Commissioner (New Delhi range) and Anti-Corruption Bureau chief Mukesh Kumar Meena, Joint Commissioner (Southeastern Range) RS Krishniya, Joint Commissioner (Central Range) SK Gautam and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Goel who is on leave for some time, apparently due to his son’s examinations. Goel was previously holding the post of Joint Commissioner (Traffic) and is said to be one of the highly respect officials of 89-batch.
“After the much awaited meeting, Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Verma is said to consider the transfer orders of the Special Commissioners, including that of Special Commissioner (law and Order) Deepak Mishra,” added sources.
