With Delhi University admission all set to begin on Thursday, students and parents will be pouring in from all parts of the country. Not well versed with routes coupled with maddening Delhi traffic, the metro is safe and cheap alternative for commuting to over 70 colleges which otherwise can become confusing and hectic at the same time, suggest city watchers.
North campus has a direct connectivity via the yellow line by the name of Vishwavidyalaya. Popular colleges like SRCC, Miranda House, Kirori Mal, Hindu, St Stephen’s, Hansraj and Ramjas can be reached conveniently. Other colleges, like IP College for women and SGTB Khalsa College, also fall on this line but one has to de-board at Civil lines and GTB Nagar respectively.
South Campus colleges such as ARSD, Sri Venkateshwar, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Moti lal Nehru, Ram lal Anand, Maitreyi and Jesus and Mary College although don’t have a unified station, they can be reached by getting down at AIIMS or Race Course metro station which also falls on the yellow line. For students seeking admission in Gargi and Kamla Nehru College, the nearest metro station will be Green Park and Hauz Khas from where they can reach the college.
lady Shri Ram College for women which is at an off-campus location falls on the violet line and one can de-board at Kailash Colony or Moolchand metro station from where it is a 3-5 minute walk.
