In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a “cashless society”, the Delhi unit of BJP has launched an initiative ‘My Mobile-My Bank-My Wallet’ to create awareness regarding various modes of online and cashless transactions.
In one such programme, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel on Tuesday participated in a ‘Mobile Banking March’ in Karwal Nagar area where he met shopkeepers and explained to them the benefits of mobile banking.
“Mobile banking and digital methods of payment would bring in transparency and also enable ease of doing business. Future generations of business communities will openly accept digital payment methods and lead a revolution to cashless economy”, Goel said.
Similar marches will be held across Delhi to create awareness about e-banking, digital payment methods and e-wallets among the business community, he said.
Goel also held a meeting with traders at his residence and discussed the positives of demonetisation as he batted for digital modes of payment.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay and other party leaders participated in similar programmes held with trader communities in Karol Bagh and Pandav Nagar areas.
Delhi BJP’s Digital Team explained the mobile spending features to the local residents and traders.
Upadhyay said mobile banking and e-wallet when adopted will benefit individuals as they would not need to carry cash. Such purchases billed through bank will also ensure product guarantee for consumer and proper tax for Government, he added.
