The Jankia police on Sunday morning recovered the blood-stained body of an unidentified young woman from near a bridge over Malaguni river near Nirakarpur on NH-16 in Khordha district.
locals suspected that the woman was murdered and her face crushed to destroy evidence. later, her body was dumped near the bridge to mislead police.
People who had gone to take bath in the river spotted the body and informed the police. Police personnel from the Nirakarpur and Jankia police stations rushed to the spot and begun investigation.
The cops are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased woman aged between 16-18 years.
