The Railway police, Bhopal have registered a case of sexual assault and threatening of life on Wednesday after a 28-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Sampark Kranti Express train near Bhopal on July 14.
The case was registered after Pune based victim lodged a complaint with Bhosari police station in Pune about the atrocity faced in the moving train during her journey from Delhi to Pune. Victim lodged a complaint with the Bhosari police station claiming that she was raped by her cousin Dhananjay Shrikant Tiwari who is a resident of Pune and was travelling in the same coach of the train. She was raped when she went to toilet and was threatened to keep mum but the victim mustered courage and reported the incident to her mother and later lodged a complaint with the police.
The case was transferred to GRP Bhopal and a case under section 376, 354, 324 and 506 of IPC was registered late on Wednesday.
Police team would be dispatched to record the statement of the victim claimed the police. More details of the accused would be searched in the investigation. Victim works as a school teacher with a private school in Uttarakhand.
The accused works with a private firm in Haryana and investigation has been started by the GRP police.
After the victim lodged a complaint with the police she was attacked by the accused on July 21 and after the attack she informed the Bhosari police and based on the information police are investigating.
