Fuelled with old enmity, a 38-year-old married woman was attacked with sharp edged weapon by two miscreants in Paras Nagar under Nishatpura police station area on Thursday.
According to the police, the victim Farzana was attacked with sharp-edged weapon at her house in the evening on Thursday. The victim was rushed to Hamidia hospital where her condition is reportedly stable.
A complaint was lodged with the Nishatpura police and in her complaint victim had claimed that she was alone at the time of the incident when Arbaz entered her house and attacked her with a sharp edged weapon in which palms of both of her hands were injured and she also sustained injuries in head, back and shoulder. When the victim was attacked she raised alarm which alerted her tenant who came to her rescue and spotting the tenant Arbaz escaped the spot with Aslam who was waiting with a motorbike outside the house.
Police said that the victim had lodged a complaint against Arbaz of sexual assault around a year ago and based on the complaint a case under section 376 of the IPC was registered and in th e case investigation is been conducted. The victim and miscreants have fights in the past which has lead to the attack.
The police have registered a case under section 452, 307 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Search for the accused has been started. The two have no criminal record and the attack was a result of enmity between the miscreants and victim.
