The Kalahandi police have arrested four persons for allegedly making fake electoral photo identity cards (EPIC), APl and BPl cards, Nagar Nigam certificates, health certificates and rubber stamps. The Bhawanipatna Town police arrested Dinesh Gupta of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar Saha and Berneswar Gupta of Rohtas in Bihar at Bhawanipatna and the Narla police arrested Gopal Narayan of Bihar on Monday. Dozens of fake EPICs, over 100 APl and BPl cards, health certificates and over 200 rubber stamps were recovered.
The computer and printer used for manufacturing these were seized.Kalahandi Additional SP Akshy Kumar Das said, "The arrested have told us about involvement of Bhawanipatna, Kesinga, Dharmagarh, Thuamul Rampur and Narla tehsil employees who had supported them in preparing the fake I-cards, certificates and rubber stamps."
