Two members of the People’s liberation Front of India (PlFI), an extortionist group having presence in Jharkhand and bordering villages of Odisha, were arrested and forwarded to court here by the Sundargarh police on Friday. They were identified as Mangru Soren (26) of Jamabahal and Sushil Dungdung (28) of Bobemuhan, both of them belong to Raiboga area in the district. They had allegedly beheaded the owner of a brick kiln in Majhapada area under the Raiboga police limits in Sundargarh district on July 31 night, police sources said.
According to reports, brick kiln owner Sindhu Sagar Das (28) had been staying with his family members at his Majhapada residence. On July 31 night, about 20 armed PlFI members had knocked at the door of Das’s house and then barged inside when the door was not opened for some time. They had tied all his family members and forcibly took Das with them to a place near Majhapada school. The ultras had beheaded Das and fled from the spot.
Before leaving the spot, they left a poster claiming the incident as of PlFI act. In the poster, they justified their killing by labeling Das as the police informer. On August 1 morning, the Raiboga police had reached the spot and had seized the PlFI poster bearing the name of outfit’s zonal commander Barud Gope. Senior police officials had rushed to the spot and started investigating into the case.
After investigation, police had arrested five PlFI members on separate dates and had forwarded them to the court in this case. Acting on a tipoff the Raiboga police led by Sub Inspector KK Behera arrested two more PlFI members involved in the case.
