To give a tribute to one of the known writers of theatre industry Santosh Choubey, a two-day theatre fest began here from Tuesday at IES college.
Being organised by Vanmali Srijanpeeth, the fest will host two Hindi plays for the young theatre lovers. The fest had a kick start with the play ‘lekhak Banane Wale’. Written and conceptualized by Santosh Choubey the play is directed by Anoop Joshi. Few days back the play received and overwhelmed response by the theatre buffs of the city. Even on Tuesday the youngsters enjoyed the play whole heartedly.
The story of the play revolves around a young boy Manmohan who wants to become a writer. Manmohan is a young boy who aspires to become a writer. Since his childhood he loves to write poems and stories. But he felt that his language and his style was not upto the mark because of which he will lost his passion for writing and will not be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer.
As he thought all about it, he came across an advertisement that states ‘We Make Writers’. The advertisement was all about an academy that claimed it creates writers. The academy head also claimed that he can actually make an aspirant a famous writer.
Now, tempted by the advertisement, Manmohan take admission in the academy. The whole year he tried and tried but was unable to bring out ‘that creative person’ in him. Soon he realized that it was a waste of time and money and no one can make any other person a writer.
Talking about the play, director Anoop Joshi said, “Today everything has become monetary. The ethics and the emotional attachment have lost somewhere. This play was an endeavour to bring out this bare truth.”
