The Nainital district police have suspended two constables posted at Haldwani on the charge of dereliction of duties.Constables Sanjay Rastogi and Harbeer Singh were on the traffic police duty at the Haldwani’s KMOU station on Thursday evening when SSP Nainital Senthil Abudai was passing by. He suspended Sanjay Rastogi as the latter was found talking on his cell phone instead of managing the vehicular traffic, resulting in traffic jam. SSP Abudai also passed similar order of suspension against Harbeer Singh, charging him with skipping of duty in the same area. SSP Nainital firmly asked the police personnel to discharge their duties sincerely.
The police personnel are the public servants which is why they must be sincere in discharging responsibilities in the interests of the common people, he said. They would not brook indiscipline in the police force, he asserted. Mention worthy, ensuring a smooth flow of vehicular traffic in cities like Haldwani in Nainital district has turned into a serious challenge in view of the fast increasing number of vehicles.
