Training on for Simhastha '16

The process is on to impart training to officers and employees for smooth conduct of Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain. So far, 6000 officers and employees have been trained. The state government has prepared programme to train staff of 35 departments for this. Almost all officers and employees of Ujjain district to be deployed in Simhastha have been trained. Arrangement of 32 master trainers has been made to impart training.

Students will also play significant role in arrangements during Simhastha. Keeping this in view, process is on to impart training to students of schools and colleges of Ujjain city. So far, about 27,000 students have imbibed training. These students are being apprised of Ujjain's historic and religious importance and tips to extend services to guests during Simhastha. They are also being given detailed information about Simhastha arrangements. Following training, the students will be able to play significant role in dealing with accidents, medical aid and other emergency situations.

In view of expected arrival of crores of devotees to Simhastha, training has also been imparted to 2000 drivers-conductors. They will inform devotees about cooperating in vehicle parking system.

Meanwhile, a drive is going on to prevent child begging at prominent pilgrimage centres at Ujjain city. Women's Empowerment Department has constituted an 11-member team for this. The team visited Mahakal Mandir area, Harsiddhi, Sidhhawat, Mangalnath, Chintaman Ganesh and Kal Bhairav Mandir areas. The team members made enquiries from child beggars and their families and apprised them of action to be taken under Section 24 of Juvenile Justice Act-2000. The drive is going on continuously in the city.
