The MSME Department would organise a seven-day Odisha MSME Trade Fair 2016 at the Idco Exhibition Ground here from January 8.
The fair would be held with an objective to provide a platform to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for exploring new markets and expose them to technological advancements, said MSME Minister Jogendra Behera at a Press meet here on Wednesday.
“We are giving the MSMEs a platform to showcase their products and services along with an opportunity to imbibe advancements in technology which would be displayed at the fair,” he said.
large industries would also participate in the fair to identify potential suppliers and vendor development and downstream activities, Behera added.
Seminars and workshops on different themes or concepts, buyer seller meets (B2B & B2C) would also be organised.
The annual event is a destination for several delegations comprising buyers, participants and service providers, etc., from various States and has thus become a brand of immense value and tremendous potential.
Around 250 stalls of MSMEs, technology providers, large industries, banks and promotional agencies would be opened. A business delegation from Vietnam would visit the fair.
“We had a business of Rs 80 crore last year, and this year we have Rs 100-crore target,” said an official.
Cultural programmes would also be organised during the event. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would inaugurate the fair.
