Tension prevailed at the Marshaghai College here on Monday following an outsider allegedly created hooliganism after entering into the college premises.
One Chinu Das entered into the college while classes were going on and started passing comment to a girl student with filthy language. later, he went on creating vandalism by ransacking table and desk in a class room. He also slapped a fourth grade employee of the college and assaulted a student and the driver of a college lecturer. Das later went to the front gate of the college and sat on dharna with some college students and outsiders and burnt tyres.
When college Principal Dr Bhramarbar Beura opposed him, Das allegedly misbehaved and also manhandled the former. later, some students came out from the classes and demanded the Principal to take action against the youth by lodging a complaint against him at the Marhaghai police station.
IIC Sukant Patra rushed to the college and took stock of the situation. Normalcy restored in the college after an hour, an official of the college authority said. Inquiry was on; however, the accused is yet to be arrested. Raj Behera, a president candidate for the college’s Students’ Union poll, said it is the handy work of his rival candidate
