Acting on the direction of Chief Minister Harish Rawat, State police would establish a temporary police station, consisting one Inspector, two Sub-Inspectors and dozen policemen at Sonprayag in Rudraprayag district on Tuesday.
It would be mandated to conduct relief and rescue operations to ensure peaceful Char Dham Yatra despite heavy rains. The temporary police station will be operational till November, State director general of police BS Sidhu on Monday.
