The high schools in the State, facing serious crunch of mentors, finally got some 1679 teachers on Thursday after a long wait.
Though, the process of inviting applications for the posts six years back in 2009, Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) was finally given the responsibility to conduct the examination in 2011. After undergoing several hiccups and litigations, JAC announced the final results in March year, paving the way for appointment of the teachers in various secondary schools.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das distributed the appointment letters to the successful candidates on Thursday at JAC auditorium where Council Chairman Anand Bhushan was also present among others.
The Chief Minister, on this occasion, said that no one can stop Jharkhand to become a developed state provided everyone here starts utilizing one’s post honestly for the next five years. Das also appealed them to take their appointment as a mission rather than taking it merely as a government job.
“I have joined politics not for power but for the public service because I believe that it is a medium for social service as well as social change…. Therefore, I request you people also to take your appointment as a mission rather than taking it as a mere government job,” said the CM. “I will be glad if something better could be done by taking help and support from the local people,” added the CM. Das pointed out that the development of state could be possible only by the making the people educated, hence strengthening the education system in the state is on the top of his priorities.
Das also announced that appointments of all primary, secondary and high school teachers along with the university lecturers will also be completed by November 15 this year.
“Not only appointments but infrastructure in schools will also be improved by bringing them under the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) which may take some time….but it is in our priorities,” the CM added.
In order to improve the quality of education in the State, the CM also announced that time to time training will be imparted to the teachers so that the mismanagement inside any schools could be transformed into ‘Adarsh School’ (Ideal School).
“Always try to create an example by working honestly and take a pledge to make your school an ideal school. You should also keep a vigil around you that there does not remain a single dropout child in the villages,” the CM added.
The CM further added that appointment for all departments in the minimum possible time was the priority of his government as he believed that the infrastructure of the state could not be improved without improving the infrastructure of departments. “Hence we have decided to make more than 40,000 appointments in all the departments till November 15,” said CM.
School Education and literacy Department Minister Neera Yadav also asserted that she will not sit idle until vacancies in all schools of the state are filled up. “You should also all try to re-establish the age old tradition of ‘guru-shishya pramapara’ (Teacher-Student) as position of a teacher is supposed to be the most respectable in this country,” said the HRD minister.
School Education and literacy Department Secretary Aradhana Patnaik, on the other hand, appealed them to be fully devoted towards their duties as there is no stopping for them if their duties are fulfilled with sensitivity. “If teachers are committed towards their duties, there cannot be a stopping on the way of improving standard of education in this country,” said Patnaik.
