An enquiry headed by a senior official has been ordered in the alleged irregularities in making of medical certificates and strict action would be taken against those involved in this practice, said Chief Minister Harish Rawat, while interacting with mediapersons on Monday. He said the issue was very serious and warrant immediate action.
RM Bisht, a ministerial employee in CMO office of Dehradun, had blamed the personal assistant of Health Minister for putting pressure on him for medical certificate of an education department officer. The PA had denied the charges and accused Bisht of asking bribe from those seeking medical certificates.
The issue which highlighted irregularities in Medical certificates sent the health department in tizzy following newspaper reports of teachers feigning illness for obtaining medical certificates for transfers.
Meanwhile the state health minister Surendra Singh Negi took a meeting with the health department officials at the Vidhan Sabha on Monday.
In the meeting he had summoned his PA, Bisht and doctors of medical board. In the meeting the Health Minister said the officials should not come under any sort of pressure for medical certificates.
