This workshop was organized in order to aware students and teachers to raise their voice against child labour, human trafficking and violence.

“It is a shame to our state that human trafficking and child labour cases are still very high in our state. The graph of such crime in Jharkhand reveals that we are in a pathetic condition. The awareness among students is need of the hour as they are the future of the country. They should raise their voice against child labour and should not allow children below 14 years to work in their home as well as in their neighborhoods,” said UNICEF Child Protection Officer Prity Srivastav.

She further added “If we educate and aware students we will able to solve the problem by 50 percent. Students should boycott the places where child works as labour.” She also informed the students about existing child protection act like POSCO and RTE which aims at protecting children from such heinous crime. She asked the students to report if they see or experience such crime.

Around 500 students from 15 different schools of Ranchi participated in the workshop. They were motivated to raise their voice against any crime or violence against them. A dance was performed by the students of loreto Convent which conveyed the message that evil will come to an end with joint effort.
