The construction of roads and drains should be expedited and contractors who have failed to meet the deadline should be black-listed, stated Mayor Asha lakra while assessing the annual and monthly work of Ranchi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday.
Talking to the junior engineers of the urban body, lakra asked them to maintain the quality of work.
She also ordered them to demarcate the areas where illegal construction is being done and keep an eye of these regions of the city.
Mayor also instructed the water board to make special arrangements for the imminent water scarcity the city will face in the upcoming summer season due to scant rainfall earlier this year.
Following her recent visit to Distillery pond, the Mayor also issued notice against seven house-owners for constructing homes on green-land area near the water body.
The house-owners listed for action include Bandhan Munda, Dukhan Sao, Raju Munda, Surya Narayan Kumar, Suresh Thakur and Sony Bawla and S Prasad.
lakra also commanded strict action against illegal hoardings in the city and take note of the brand names of companies being advertised in them. She also instructed Detailed Project Report to be prepared for renovating the statue of gold-medallist Olympian hockey player Jaipal Singh currently standing in the stadium named after him.
In the review meeting, it was found that house maps for 457 small structures and 90 apartments and commercial buildings have been approved during the year 2015. Moreover, 97 house holdings have been created so far.
