In order to facilitate hassle-free services to entrepreneurs willing to set up units in the State, a single window web portal is being introduced by the Department of Industries in coordination with other concerned departments. Officials in the department claimed that they were working hard to complete the project which is to be introduced by July 31.
“Out of a total of 98 point agenda set up by the department of Industrial Policy and Promotion which was later simplified to 285 points by them, we have almost succeeded in achieving 200 of them having all supporting documents with it,” said officer of in-charge of single window system Dr Madhav. Only thing an investor has to do was to log on to the prescribed website, fill up the common application form and pay the fees; rest of the things will be taken care by the Industry department, he added.
Counting on its benefits, Dr Madhav said that the introduction of single window portal will simplify the process of investment to some extent.“Firstly, the investor will get breather from inspection by over a dozen of concerned agencies. Secondly, all requirements for setting up an industry could be fulfilled by filling up a common application form by the investors through this portal and lastly, even the monitoring of the processing of their applications could be done online through this portal,” said the officer in charge.
As soon as the application is filled up, a timeline will be fixed automatically to be followed by each of the concerned departments accordingly, he said. After the application is received, it will automatically be forwarded to the other concerned departments for processing.Nothing is to be done manually, providing all facilities like electricity and water, requirement of land and labour as well as forest and environment clearance online under the web based single window system, the official added.
Other departments, also being connected through it for a better coordination includes – Industrial Development Authority, Department of Water Resources, Department of Forests, Environmental Control Board as well as Department of labour. Department of Industry is to act as a nodal department and coordinate with other departments.
