Showers bring down mercury across MP

A steep fall in temperature led by heavy and light showers at several places has been witnessed in the past 24 hours across the state.

Day temperature was  recorded below normal.The day temperature would rise while the night temperature would decrease by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next 2-3 days.

 A system over South Uttar Pradesh and adjoining parts of north Madhya Pradesh has caused the changes in the weather conditions and its further movement would decide the course of the weather conditions in the next 2-3 days.

Damoh was the coldest place of the state which recorded the night temperature at 9 degree Celsius. City recorded night temperature at 16.2 degree Celsius while the day temperature was recorded at 26.9 degree Celsius which was 4 degree Celsius below the normal temperature.

 Cold winds were witnessed in the city during the day after the cloud cover faded away. Early morning hours were cloudy and cold and later in the afternoon clear sky conditions were witnessed and sun shine made the day temperature bearable.

Among the major cities Indore recorded day temperature at 27 degree Celsius which was 5 degree Celsius below normal temperature while the night temperature was recorded at 15 degree Celsius.

Jabalpur witnessed the biggest deviation at 6 degree Celsius from the normal temperature in day temperature and was recorded at 25.3 while the lowest night temperature was recorded at Gwalior at 14.6 degree Celsius among the major cities.

Heavy rainfall has been witnessed at several places. Gotegoan recorded the highest rainfall and recorded 4 cm rainfall, Sohagpur, Singrauli , Anuppur and Malajkhand recorded 3 cm of rainfall and Sidhi, Seoni and Mandla recorded 2  cm of rainfall.

 On Friday Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol divisions witnessed rainfall and thundery activities told the Met department. In the past 24 hours Shahdol and Jabalpur divisions and few districts in Rewa, Hoshangabad and Chambal divisions witnessed rainfall.
