The District Sessions Court here has found two youths arrested in a dacoity case as minors. The police had forwarded them to court as majors.Sources said when the duo youths were forwarded to court, their family members claimed before the judge that they were minors, but the police had registered case against them as majors. The family members claimed that police had done so, ignoring their claim and proof they submitted with the police. The court, while admitting the case, asked police to send age proof from the school they are reading and finally, it was proved that the youths were minors.

According to sources, two boys, both natives of Bhalubahal village under Hemgiri police station of the district, are reportedly studying in class X of Kanika High School of the district. They belong to an extremely poor family. They were working as daily labourers in a tractor. On May 19 last, they were arrested by Bhasma police along with six others. Since their bail plea was rejected in lower court, they were sent to judicial custody.
