Cooperatives and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava has said that Seed Societies will not be allowed to suffer losses. He said that efforts will also be made to provide easy loans to Seed Societies through State Cooperative Seed Marketing Federation. Bhargava was addressing 10th annual general body meeting of the Federation here on Tuesday.
Bhargava said that farmers are getting high quality seeds in time through Seed Federation and Seed Societies. He said that Seed Cooperative Societies’ role has been significant in Madhya Pradesh being conferred Krishi Karman Award thrice.
The meeting was informed that the Federation is constructing 1000 MT capacity godowns-cum-grading plants in 20 districts. Software network is being evolved with the assistance of MP Online to collect information from regional and district offices and better coordination between them.
The meeting was informed that Federation’s share is 70 per cent in total availability of seeds in the state. It was also informed that Rs1 crore 62 lakh credit limit has been sanctioned by Khargone District Cooperative Bank to 6 Seed Cooperative Societies and Rs6.26 lakh credit limit to three Seed Societies by Balaghat District Cooperative Bank.
