A massive cleanliness programme marked the nation-wide Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan’s ‘Swachhata Fortnight’ observed under the aegis of South Eastern Coal fields limited (SECl).

SECl General Manager NP Sahu and other officers along with the Municipal Supervision Committee cleaned up and burnt the litters and grass at Kendriya Chikitsalaya and Dussehra Maidan.

Nagar Panchayat President Rajesh Yadav and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DN Ojha, along with Nagar Panchayat employees inspected public toilets in Bus Stand area.

In his address, Sahu appealed the shopkeepers outside the Kendriya Chikitsalaya to put the garbage left out of their shops in a dustbin and dispose them at a safe place, so that the area could remain clean.

He said joint effort was needed to maintain cleanliness.

Fruits and vegetable vendors at Haat Bazar have been instructed to maintain cleanliness. Under construction toilets at ward number 6 and 9 were also inspected.
