Increasing its pressure on the private schools, the members of All Uttarakhand Parents Association met the Secretary of State Commission for protection of child rights on Monday and apprised him about the open loot of private school owners. The delegation informed him that the private schools are blatantly violating the provisions of Right to Education (RTE) and the administration is doing noting to prevent their hegemony. The president of association Niraj Singhal said that on specific orders of Dehradun District Magistrate, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Dehradun asked all the Block Education Officers (BEO) to ensure that the all the private school adhere to the guidelines listed in the Government Order (GO) while increasing their fees. The schools were also asked to constitute Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) in their schools. Singhal alleged that the education officers are sitting over the order and are doing nothing to prevent the private schools from exploiting hapless parents.
