Schools to be given better infrastructure: CM

Showing his government’s commitment to provide best education to children Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that all the state-run educational institutions should be provide with the infrastructure like buildings and furniture by next academic session.

“The Government-run educational institutions should have best of infrastructure. The construction of buildings should be complete and should have best furniture. Not only this, these institutions should have regular teachers and others staff,” Yadav said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

In a communication to Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan Yadav said that the state government was committed to provide better education to the youths. “The construction of buildings should be completed at war footing. All these schools should have furniture by next academic session. Unless you have better facilities at schools you cannot provide better education,” he said.

“If need be new teachers should be appointed. Chief Secretary should take a stock of the situation after holding meetings with all concerned departments and then take a call. All these educational institutions should have new buildings, furniture and teachers by next academic session,” Chief Minister said in his terse message.

“The state government is constructing educational institutions in a big way. If all of these come by next session we will transform education system by 2016,” he said adding that besides setting up schools new universities were also being established in the state because knowledge illuminates mind which in turn dispels superstitions.

He also said that no nation in the world can be developed without better education and for this serious steps are being taken by the Uttar Pradesh government. “The world is changing. The government has to keep pace with this changing world and make adequate changes in the education system. We know that by bringing changes in the education will also brighten the future of country and help us in eradicating malpractices,” he said.

He also talked about his government’s endeavour to give laptop to the meritorious students so that they can be exposed to the digital world. “If we can plug the digital divide we can transform the country in a true sense,” he said.
