In a tragic accident in the Satamile area of Hindol in Dhenkanal district, two persons were killed after a bus hit an auto-rickshaw which was carrying school students on Tuesday.
The deceased were the auto driver and a schoolgirl. Nine other children who were critically injured were rushed to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
According to sources, the tragedy occurred when the auto rickshaw taking the students back to their homes from school had a head-on collision with the speeding bus. The auto driver and the child sitting in the front seat with the driver died on the spot. Following the incident, irate locals staged road blockade.
