School van collides with railway engine; 2 killed

In a tragic incident two students were killed and three others got seriously hurt on the lohardaga Ranchi railway line when a Tata Magic School Van collided with a railway engine near Irgaon station at Mundo railway crossing on Thursday. The students were going to Universal Public School, Bhandra.

locals said that the van driver could not notice the engine coming on an unmanned crossing. The driver of the vehicle Sukhdeo Oraon of Bejwali village always drove the bus putting head phone in ears and listening songs, they added.

In the accident school student Raj Kumar Saw (8), son of Ashok Sahu and Manoranjan Bhagat (12) son of Vaidhna Oraon died on spot. The injured were included Rani Kumari (8), Chhoti Kumari (6) and Manish Kumar (7) of Mundo village.

On getting the information of the incident the ex-MlA Kamal Kishor Bhagat sent his central secretary Suraj Agarwal and Guddu Nath Shahdeo for instant help. They sent them RIMS for better treatment. KK Bhagat talked to the DC and requested to give compensation amount and service to the dead ones. DC Assured to take out a solution after discussion with railway department. Bhagat also talked with the railway officers and requested to take quick action. He also demanded to construct a railway over bridge near the crossing. On this railway officers assured to take positive steps.

The members of Jay Shree Ram Samity also played vital role to help them instantly.
