As many as 12 cadets of Class XII in the 1st batch of Sainik School were given a warm farewell in the presence of lt Cdr ER Rajesh, school Registrar; Principal and Group Captain Tarun Khare and other staff members. The cadets cleared the written examination of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the first attempt. Four cadets have been selected for National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune for the training of Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army and Navy. Each of the cadets was given the cash award of Rs5,000.
In his address, lt Cdr ER Rajesh conveyed his good wishes to the cadets. He termed student life as the best one for a person and hence one should shape their career. Besides, he also appealed the cadets to put in their sincere efforts for getting success in their life. Group Captain Tarun Khare expected the cadets to give a unique identity to the school in their career. He asked the cadets to focus on their aim and put the efforts accordingly. Khare said that the upcoming batches would certainly get the opportunity to study in the new campus in Mendrakala. The cadets were given the memento to conclude the function.
