The Commissionerate Police has started a manhunt to nab the unidentified miscreants who opened fire at a senior railway official posted at the East Coast Railway (ECoR) Headquarters here on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, Rail Vikas Nigam limited (RVNl) Assistant General Manager Ajay Kumar was shot at by three unidentified men in Shree Vihar area under the Chandrasekharpur police limits while he was going back to his residence. Fortunately Kumar escaped unhurt in the firing.
Sources said that the anti-social elements of the area might have demanded extortion money from him. Meanwhile, the police said they have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
