Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Wednesday demanded that the Centre allocate its share for the five proposed medical colleges in the State at the earliest.
Nayak, who met Union Health Minister JP Nadda in New Delhi apprised him about the efforts of the State Government for execution of the proposed medical colleges and sought the Centre’s help.
Nayak urged Nadda to consider the State Government’s proposal of enhancement of 100 MBBS seats each in VSS Medical Science and Research Institute, Burla and MKCG Medical College and Hospital positively.
He also requested the Union Minister to release Rs 100 crore as assured by the Union Government for construction of a new campus of Acharya Harihar Cancer Institute, Cuttack.
