Raman honours martyr's mother

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Wednesday visited the camp of Combined Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), an elite anti-Naxal commando wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Karanpur village in restive Bastar district and inaugurated a host of facilities developed for the officials and troopers.

A housing complex, training school, hospital, canteen, barrack, a mess for Gazetted officers and other amenities were dedicated to the troopers with in sprawling area of 316 acres. The facilities have been developed at a cost of Rs184 crore.

The CRPF complex has been named after CRPF's Kirti Chakra Martyr Bhrugunandan Chaudhary, a resident of Chhattisgarh's Sadauli village in Gariaband district, who had laid down his life fighting the Maoists at Chakarbandha district in Bihar on September 8, 2012.

On the occasion, the CM also felicitated the martyr's mother Sushila Chaudhary in the Karanpur village. Present on the occasion were State Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand and CRPF Director General Prakash Misra besides other officials.
