Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of “Office-cum-Residential” Complex of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the state capital on coming November 5 next month.
According to official sources, senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations will be present on the occasion. The complex will include the Office Complex spread over 2,720 sq. meters and the Residential Complex will be laid out over an area of 6,065 sq. meters.
The Home Ministry has sanctioned Rs.32.66 crore for this project scheduled to be completed within a time frame of 18 months. The project has been assigned to National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) ltd which will construct “Griha 3 Star” compound building. The Branch Office NIA at lucknow was made operational on June 20,2012. This branch is investigating the terrorism related cases of states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh including Naxal attacks. Presently, the branch office is functioning from a rented accommodation in Gomati Nagar at lucknow.
