Rajasthan Mahotsav from today

The multi-art centre of the city, Bharat Bhavan, is all set with fizzy shades of Rajasthan to host the Rajasthan Mahotsav 2015.The Bhopalites would experience the art and culture of Rajasthan.Beginning from Saturday, the weeklong Rajasthan Mahotsav is organised by Bharat Bhavan. The Mahotsav is all about folk dance, music, film screenings, and poets meet, plays and a well organised craft mela. The Mahotsav will continue till February 6.

The Rajasthan Mahotsav will have a kick start on January 31 with an exhibition of painting and scul;ptures by the artists of Rajasthan. Further on the same day, the renowned folk singer of Rajasthan Anwar Khan will give a performance along with his troupe. On the same day, Bundu Khan langa will give a performance and the first eve will get conclude with classical performance by Mohammad Aman.

On February 1, a poets meet would be organized. On the same day, one of the hit movies of Bollywood ‘Paheli’ would be screened. Further on the same day, a dance drama based on folk culture will be performed followed with the musical performance by Asit Goswami and Amit Goswami. The second day will conclude with the Kathak performance by Prerna Shrimali.

On February 2, a lecture will be held followed with film screening ‘Rudali’. On the same day, dance drama will be performed followed with musical performance by Vasif Uddin and Vishwamohan Bhatt. On February 3, film Dor will be screened followed with the play Jamleela. On February 4, film screening would be held followed with the theatre drama ‘Chhapri Plang’.

On February 5, film ‘Veer Tejaji’ will be screened followed with play Chadi Chameli. The Rajasthan Mahotsav will have a grand closure on February 6 with film screening of ‘Duvidha’ which will be followed with tabla recital by Ustad Nasir Hussain and would conclude with Sarangi Saptak.
