Quality education is the base of good career and students only after deciding their aim must peruse higher education, expressed BJP legislator Gowardhan Manjhi while inaugurating a two-day development training camp held at Government Shyam Shankar College Deobhog. Notably according to a survey conducted recently in Deobhog region, only 7 per cent rural youths peruse higher education courses after completing their schooling.
The programme was part of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) launched by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) in 2013. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Arun Markam who had cracked the state Public Service Exam (PSC) in 2008 and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prashant Shukla who had also cracked the PSC same year also interacted with the students.
SDM Markam while addressing the gathering said “Generally here in Chhattisgarh we think about our career after completing graduation. However, in other states children decide their goals while
they are in 9th standard.” He asked students to fix their goals early in their career.
“Apart from coaching quality, study hours at home is also necessary for success and frequently changing aim also increases the chance of failure,” he said. Meanwhile DSP Prashant Shukla pointed out various career options and detailed about various job opportunities in various fields. He advised students not to waste time on mobile and TV and asked to read quality books and competitive magazines.
