Punjab Government has chalked out `300 crore project to tackle the problem of waterlogging and the same had been sent for the Centre’s approval.
“With the Punjab Government’s efforts, the area affected by waterlogging has been reduced to a mere 60,000 acre from 1,06,000 acre earlier. The project would be implemented soon to eradicate the waterlogging after its approval from the Centre,” said Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Wednesday.
Sukhbir, while addressing a mammoth gathering at Sadrana village on the last day of his ongoing sangat darshan program, also said that the Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh does not have many tricks up his sleeve and “is behaving like a frustrated man as he is devoid of any realistic and practical issues”.
launching a scathing attack on the state Congress chief, he said that Capt Amarinder is playing politics of very low level over the name of revered martyr like-Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the international airport issue.
Sukhbir said that he had observed during his two-day sangat darshan programs that the people of the State are extremely satisfied over the development works carried out by the SAD-BJP Government.
